SkyShepherd is a patented GPS dog fence that lives on a smart collar. It provides containment, shows your dog’s GPS location, and alerts you if your dog tests its boundaries. SkyShepherd is also a smart, location-aware, connected device. It allows you to locate your dog on-demand in the app. SkyShepherd doesn’t rely on cellular networks. Instead, within a local radius of a provided charging cradle/gateway, SkyShepherd is able to send you collar location information and real-time boundary notifications. This allows you to take SkyShepherd where cellular networks fail, thereby expanding the travel options you have with your dog.

Connected

SkyShepherd is a connected smart device you can manage remotely from your phone. You can see your SkyShepherd collar’s location on a map in the SkyShepherd app. SkyShepherd also sends you notifications if your dog tests its boundary.

SkyShepherd doesn’t rely on cellular networks. Instead, SkyShepherd uses a gateway system. Your collar sends notifications and location information to a SkyShepherd charger/gateway (one is provided with purchase). The gateway relays the info over the internet to your mobile device. As long as your collar is within range of any SkyShepherd gateway (up to a half-mile in excellent conditions), you will continue to get notifications and be able to see your collar on your mobile device from wherever you are (of course, your mobile device needs an internet connection). Since SkyShepherd contains your dog in your boundary, this is an excellent fit for this technology. It allows you to bring SkyShepherd places that do not have cellular coverage.

Note: The SkyShepherd collar will contain your dog all by itself, autonomously. Only remote location reporting and notifications (connectivity features) require a use of the gateway.

SkyShepherd always uses the minimum level of guidance necessary to contain, and actually rewards your dog for doing the right thing. SkyShepherd's patented technology creates gradual alert zones to guide your dog to stay where it’s OK to be. It also uses a training system based on incentive learning and positive reinforcement. Here’s how:

Your dog receives a friendly, periodic Safe Tone while it’s in its Safe Zone—a reward for doing the right thing. If your dog moves out of its Safe Zone, a gradual, low-level vibration encourages it to turn back. A friendly Safe Tone rewards it when returns in Safe Zone. E-stim is optional, if you deem it necessary. In that case, SkyShepherd always uses the lowest effective amount.

Do you love your dog and need a wireless dog fence for large acreage?
SkyShepherd is well suited for dogs over 20 pounds and properties of 1 acre or more that have up to light or moderate tree canopy covering their property. Our wireless dog fence for large acreage features a state-of-the-art GPS system and patented technology that allows you to create boundaries of almost any size and shape. Before training with SkyShepherd, your dog should be at least 20 lbs, be at least 6 months old, and know the basic obedience commands, “sit,” “stay,” and “come”/”here.” Ideally they would also walk well on leash. This doesn’t mean they know “heel” or something similar, only that they generally walk where you lead with slack leash and don’t pull, dig-in, bite the leash, etc. when you bring them for a walk. Walking well on leash is not a pre-requisite, it just makes training easier.
